In the village of S'conset on Nantucket, there is a classic old time restaurant called The Chanticleer. It has a charming old world setting. In the courtyard, there's a beautiful garden, and this carousel horse is standing proudly in the middle of it.
This is one of my most technically challenging prints- a seperate block was used for the blue background, and each flower, blade of grass, and decoration on the horse was inked and printed all at once. It took four hours to complete the print, and about 2 months to draw and carve.
