Every July, The Arists Association of Nantucket has a summer fundraising gala. Member artists donate work, and it's auctioned off by the great Rafael Osona who spends the rest of the year auctioning off estate items at his downtown location. Rafael is quite the performer, and whips up the crowd into a paddle-waving frenzy raising a lot of money for the AAN. It's a fantastic sight to see, and a great event to experience. To me, it's an iconic Nantucket summer scene.
