This is a large woodcut that I did for the Artists Association of Nantucket Gala. Each year, artists donate a framed piece to the AAN to be auctioned off at their summer gala. I chose an image I've been working on for a year. I took many photos and did some sketches of Main St during the summer of 2014. I even had my drawing students drawing this scene for a perspective lesson. I worked on the piece during the winter of 2014-15. It took me a long time to compose, draw, cut, and print the finished piece-almost 3 months from start to finish. It came out well, and was a big hit at the gala.
