woodcuts, Nantucket images
A woodcut I finished during a"snow day" at school, and I was in the dorm all day being the "adult presence". It's a portrait of David Lazarus, a great painter on Nantucket. I was hanging out with him last July as he was getting ready for his show in August. It was hot in his studio, but he was definitely "in the zone" and banging out some great paintings. In fact, as we were talking, and I was photographing him, he started a painting, and by the time we finished talking, he had finished the painting. It took 45 min. at best. It was an awesome painting and hung at his show in Aug.
