When I got my MFA from the New York Academy of Art, an opportunity arose to spend a week for free at a Berkshire summer camp before it opened for the season. The offer was for the whole school, but I was the only one to take them up on the offer. I was floating around in a canoe wondering what a city boy was going to do trying to make sense of a landscape. There were many failed sketches, but I drew this image en plein air from the canoe and cut it when I got home.
Unfortunately, I have since lost the block. So I can't sell it. If anyone sees the block, let me know.
