Every August, there is the "Opera Cup" race. Vintage wooden sailboats, of the "America's Cup" style congregate in Nantucket harbor to race to Martha's Vineyard and back to ACK. It's a beautiful site, all of these vintage racing sailboats in the harbor. I tried for years to do a woodcut from the many photos I've taken of the scene, but it never worked out. So one day, I just took a piece of wood down to the docks and drew it "en plein air" with pencil and then a "Sharpie", so my decisions on the spot would be final.
