Winter Vines Wrapped Around a Fence
pastel
32"x16"
2004

In the bleak of the winter, one of the "gothiest" things to see are bare vines wrapped around a fencepost. In the summer, they are green and lush, but in the winter, they are like an Edgar Alen Poe poem about being wrapped up in the maelstrom which may be titled "Alizarin Vines".
This photo has a reflection from the glass in the frame. At some point, I'll take it out and re-photograph it, but for now, this image will have to do, sorry.
